Thanks so much for visiting!
This is a temp page for now - I am working on getting the site up. The forums are running, feel free to visit. This website is dedicated to raising funds to help Rebecca Cloer (or you may remember her by her maiden name, Rebecca Singer) pay for her medical bills, travel expenses, and other monetary troubles associated with her fight against cancer. In April of 2003 Becca was diagnosed with Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor. DSRCT is a very rare, very aggressive form of cancer that usually effects children, teenagers and young adults. Becca was 25 when she was diagnosed. She was told she had a 30% chance of being alive today, three years later. Becca has undergone 9 different courses of treatment. She has participated in six clinical trials for new cancer drugs and treatments, hoping that something will prove effective against her DSRCT. At the least she has provided valuable information for future cancer patients. She has just been accepted for another clinical trial, which means she needs to travel to San Antonio, Texas in the coming weeks. However, in addition to dealing with the reality of living with cancer the Cloers must also adjust to the financial burden of constant medical bills and travel expenses. It seems very unfair that this cancer should attack and be so devastating on many levels, physically and financially. Becca should not have to worry about whether she can afford the treatments that could beat her DSRCT. To that end, we, her friends and family, have set up this website. Think of it as a long term virtual yard sale, if you like. Here we will offer our items for sale, which may vary from original art work to toys to books to jewelry, and everything in between. All of them have one thing in common: the proceeds from their sale will go directly to Becca. Please take a few moments to browse what we have offered here. Just like any yard sale, you may find a terrific new "treasure" that you can't live without. Unlike any yard sale, you'll be helping our dear friend - sister - daughter - wife in her fight against this terrible disease, and buying her a bit of hope. Other ways to help: Please take a moment to spread the word about this site. Perhaps you know a friend or relative who might like something offered here, or maybe you are part of a larger group or organization who wouldn't mind a quick link? We also have fliers available that you can easily print out for posting on bulletin boards or to use as hand outs. Anything to get the word out would be greatly appreciated. Do you have something you would be willing to donate and/or add to the site? Please contact us for more information. You may also donate to Becca through her Paypal account. You are also welcome to visit our forum and leave a message of encouragement for Becca. More information: |
